December 29th, 2016: Josh and I were sitting at the Burger Stand in Lawrence, Kansas. I was eating a burger salad that cost over $20 and Josh was eating a burger. Hindsight tells me I should have just got a regular burger too. The menu consisted of salads and burgers but for an extra $3 you can get any burger as a salad. But I didn't just want a burger salad, I wanted a burger salad with chicken added. The girl looked at me like I had two heads.
We were in town for a wedding the next day at the Lawrence Country Club. Little did we know that a year later we would be in the same city celebrating with, essentially, the same people.
We met Taylor (Stuey) at another wedding we did in June of 2015. We were incredibly impressed with is dance skills and wondered if we would ever get to film his wedding. The following winter we were again in Lawrence filming for Stuey's best friend, Andy. Again, the dance moves that were put forth in front of us were astounding. Again, we wondered if he was going to get hitched soon.
That was answered early in 2017 when we received an email. Stuey was finally getting married and he wanted us to capture it. Of course we said yes.
The weather was cold but the love and graciousness made us feel a tad warmer inside. Josh and I showed up to the church and were immediately greeted with "nice to see you again" and "you can't get rid of us." It seems like every wedding we have done in Kansas or Kansas City is connected somehow. Whether it be friends of friends, or cousins of friends, we always feel like a part of the family when out west. It makes things incredibly easy and I think you'll be able to tell with the video above.
